The details in the hand
Our team at Manchester Hand Surgeons find everything to do with the wrist and the hand fascinating.
Fascinating because of its intricate design. The detail. The small aspects of how the hand is built, and the components that ultimately work together, in order for our fingers to move and our wrists to bend.
It is this level of understanding and insightful knowledge that enables our team of experts to treat all hand conditions effectively and, most importantly, successfully.
It’s why so many people choose Manchester Hand Surgeons as their private hand surgeon. To take care of the detail. To provide high quality and first-class care, exceptional levels of customer service, and above all to get your hand and wrist back to full working order in no time.
Do you know the composition of your hand?
To put some figures on it, the hand comprises:
- 34 muscles
- 27 bones
- Hundreds of ligaments
- Numerous tendons, supporting
- 27 joints, with
- Nerves and

It’s busy!
Building up the palm, fingers, and wrist, helping to create, to us, the most detailed piece of the human body.
